Miguel Cabrera hits first spring home run in win

New, comments

Well we've seen Miguel Cabrera's name frequently enough for non-baseball reasons. It's good that he gave us a baseball reason to read it too. He went 2-for-3 with a double, home run and two RBIs as the Tigers beat the Cardinals 7-4. On the other end of the baseball equation, starter Phil Coke threw four scoreless innings for the win and struck out three.

Also having decent days at the plate were Will Rhymes (2-for-4, walk, RBI); Brennan Boesch (2-for-3, double, RBI); Casper Wells (well, three walks anyway). In total, the Tigers had 10 hits and 14 walks.

Of interest on the mound, Joquin Benoit allowed a hit and walk in a scoreless inning of work while striking out two. Ryan Perry gave up two runs on two hits and two walks in an inning of work.
