Verlander cruises as Tigers finish Grapefruit home schedule with win

A pinch-hit home run by minor league outfielder Deik Scram gave Detroit the 3-1 victory. Ryan Perry gave up a hit in an innings work to get credit for the win.


The Tigers had seven hits, with Ryan Raburn collecting two of them, including a solo home run. Miguel Cabrera had a double. Alex Avila drew two walks.

The Tigers will hit the road for the final three Grapefruit games of the season before heading north to New York for Thursday's season opener.
