Sorry for the late post: I got to do schoolwork last night instead of baseball. Let's rectify that right now.
AAA: Columbus 1, Toledo 0 (Game 1)
You have to hand it to Thad Weber. He went six innings, giving up only one earned run (a solo homer) on two hits and three walks with six strikeouts. But the offense just wasn't there. Both Scott Sizemore and Scott Thorman got two hits, and Thorman stole a base.
Chris Oxspring took the start for the second game of Toledo's doubleheader, and he yielded three earned runs on three walks and two hits with five strikeouts. John Murrian was 2-3 with a double and Scott Sizemore was 1-3 with a walk.
LJ Gagnier went six innings for the SeaWolves, striking out eight batters and giving up both earned runs to Bowie. Audy Ciriaco was 1-4 with a triple, and Ben Guez was 2-3.
Tony Plagman won this game on a bases loaded walk in the 9th inning. So... that's fun. Cole Nelson did not have nearly as much fun: he was lifted after giving up three runs in four innings. Tony Plagman was 3-4 with a walk (the aforementioned bases loaded one) and Gustavo Nunez had Lakeland's only extra base hit of the game (a double).
A: Great Lakes 3, West Michigan 1
Josue Carreno did his best Dontrelle Willis impression, walking five batters over 5.1 innings. However, he only gave up two runs, one of which was unearned. Rob Brantly was 2-4 with a double.
