Andrew Oliver took the ball on Opening Day for the Mud Hens, and put in a quality start: six innings, with two earned runs allowed. Oliver walked two and struck out six. Scott Sizemore was 2-5, Timo Perez went 3-5 with a double and a homer and Andy Dirks went 4-5 with a homer.
Jacob Turner absolutely dominated the Altoona Curve: over six innings, Turner struck out nine(!!!) and walked one while allowing a mere two hits. The offensive support was iffy though: Michael Bertram was 2-3 with a walk and a double while Ben Guez was 1-3 with a homer.
Trevor Feeney was Lakeland's Opening Day starter (which says something about Lakeland's rotation) and he went five innings, giving up one earned run while striking out one and walking two. Luckily, he had offensive support. Gustavo Nunez homered, Daniel Fields was 1-2 with a triple and a pair of walks and Avisail Garcia was 2-4.
