What to Watch For:
1. Penny dominate in Central - Tigers starter Brad Penny is 3-0 against A.L. Central teams this season. This is, however, his first start against the Indians this season.
2. Carmona struggling as of late - This is good news if you're a Tigers fan. In his last start against the New York Yankees, Indians starter Fausto Carmona gave up 6 runs in only 4 innings. In his last 3 starts, he is 0-3 with a 10.67 ERA.
3. In rehab stint news - Tigers reliever Brad Thomas threw a scoreless inning of relief for the Toledo Mud Hens on Tuesday night. Indians designated hitter Travis Hafner also started his rehab in Double-A on Tuesday, he went 1 for 2 with a walk. He has been on the disabled list since May 18 with a right oblique injury.
Side Note:
In last night's near no-hitter by Justin Verlander, the Tigers failed to get an extra-base hit in the game. Ending their streak in which they had a double or more in every game this season.
On Deck:
In the series finale Thursday afternoon, it's Max Scherzer vs. Mitch Talbot. Then off to Colorado for some interleague play on Friday!
