What to Watch For:
1. Max Scherzer and his struggles of late - After seeing him win his first 6 starts, Scherzer has been struggling with his command lately. In his last 3 starts, he's 0-2 with a 10.67 ERA.
2. Josh Hamilton and his bat of destruction - While the Rangers sweep of the Indians helped the Tigers gain some ground in Central, it could also bring them right back down. In the 3-game series, Hamilton went 6 for 13 with 2 homeruns and 6 RBI's.
3. The return of Magglio Ordonez - He is expected back for the Tuesday night game after finishing up his rehab stint for the Mud Hens on Monday. Jim Leyland has said he plans on batting him 3rd. Ordonez is 1-4 with 4 walks against Tuesday's starter Matt Harrison.
4. The hitting streak of Ryan Raburn - Yes, you read that right. Raburn is currently on 5-game hitting streak. Although he is only 5 for 20 in that stretch, his strikeouts have declined rapidly and he has been able to pull his average above .200. Could this be a sign of Raburn getting out of his slump? It's a good series to find out. Raburn is a combined 7 for 10 with 8 RBI's against the upcoming Texas starters.
The Tigers return home for 8 games in 8 days. A 4-game series against the Mariners, 1 game against the Rays (make-up), and an important 3-game series against the Indians. It all kicks off Thursday.
