Erin over at Tigers Amateur Analysis was actually at this game, and commented that Brayan Villarreal's line (four earned runs, two walks, three strikeouts in 5.2 innings) was a bit of hard luck, combined with a good first few innings. Of course, he's in the rotation to work on his stuff, not because his future is there. The hitting was able to pull Villarreal out of the jam, though. Brandon Inge was 3-4 with a double and a home run, Ryan Strieby was 2-3 with a double and Clete Thomas was 3-4 with two doubles.
LJ Gagnier only pitched 2.1 innings (due to an undisclosed injury), but he allowed a mere one earned run while striking out two. Audy Ciriaco was 3-5 with a triple, Bryan Pounds and John Murrian both doubled and Rawley Bishop, Jamie Johnson, Brandon Douglas and Francisco Martinez all had multi-hit nights (Martinez led the 'Wolves with four).
Shawn Teufel gave up five runs (four earned) in three innings. Daniel Fields tripled and walked.
