Two night's worth of recaps today.
Thad Weber gave up two runs in seven innings of work, walking four and striking out three. Carlos Guillen had two hits, as did Ryan Strieby, who also homered.
Casey Crosby allowed two home runs in his six innings, which led to him surrendering five earned runs. The offense consisted of a double from Rawley Bishop, a single from Brandon Douglas and a walk from Eric Roof.
A+: Lakeland vs. Dunedin postponed (rain)
Kevin Eichhorn gave up four earned runs in 6.1 innings, walking three and striking out six. Luis Castillo tripled and homered.
Matt Crouse struck out seven in 5.2 innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks. Patrick Leyland had two hits and a walk while Edwin Gomez was 2-2 with a double and two walks.
Duane Below went seven innings, allowing an earned run while walking four and striking out four. Will Rhymes had three hits, including a double, as well as a stolen base. Ben Guez doubled twice, and Carlos Guillen also had a double.
Brooks Brown gave up four runs (three earned) in seven innings. Jamie Johnson was 3-4 with a home run, and Francisco Martinez tripled and walked.
Cole Nelson walked three and struck out one in a four inning start. He also gave up two earned runs. Avisail Garcia was 2-4 with a double and a stolen base, Daniel Fields walked twice and Wade Gaynor was 3-4 with a double.
Brian Flynn walked five and allowed two earned runs in 1.2 innings, and the pitching was even worse from there. The offense was almost as awful, but doubles from Rob Brantly and Nick Castellanos were enough to keep it from being worse than the pitching (though still not good enough to score runs) .
Brennan Smith pitched a complete game (eight innings), allowing two earned runs and striking out six. But the offense just wasn't there. Bo McClendon was 0-2 with a walk and an RBI.
