KEY THOUGHTS

My first recap since getting back to BYB and this is what happens? Well I got news for you, Al's going to be blogging a lot more often if that's what it takes. In the mean time I'm going to have to strip all references to magic numbers off the web sites if this losing streak doesn't end at 2.

It's nice of the Tigers to notice we're entering the final month of the season and offer up a gimme win to the Royals. Why should 2011 be any different than any other year? Ugh.

But seriously, Max Scherzer sucked. That's the story line here. Seven runs allowed in four innings -- technically three-plus innings because he didn't record an out in the fourth. Jeez man, The Royals aren't awful but are you serious?

We'll tip the cap to Ramon Santiago for driving in a run and hitting a triple, anyway. And of course to Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez for combining for five hits.

I'd like to put more effort into this recap, but I'll match the effort of the Tigers' pitching staff and call it a night right now. If you'd rather read about more pleasant times, I recapped (with photos!) my unfortunately short vacation, over in the FanPosts.
