Justin Verlander stumbled a bit in the third inning, but Delmon Young and Ryan Raburn helped pick him up as the Tigers got back on the winning track in Grapefruit League play with a 7-2 victory over the Braves.

Verlander allowed two runs in the third inning after a pair of singles and walk to open the inning loaded the bases for Atlanta. Eric Hinske drove both runs in with a one-out single. Verlander settled back in and finished the day at five innings on the mound. He allowed four hits and two walks, while striking out four.

In the bullpen competition, Chris Bootcheck, Luis Marte and Brayan Villarreal all tossed scoreless innings.

The Tigers batters meanwhile beat up on former Tigers pitcher Jair Jurrjens. They scored seven runs on eight hits and two walks during Jurrjens' five innings. Raburn homered in the second, then Young hit a two-run shot of his own in the fifth. Both came with two outs.

Prince Fielder and Young both had two hits.
