Justin Verlander went six innings of two-run ball, but ultimately Phil Coke got the win when the Tigers finally scored a couple of runs in the seventh inning to take the lead. Detroit held on for a 6-3 victory over Philadelphia.
The runs in the seventh came on a home run by Tyler Collins. James McCann added another homer in the eighth for good measure. Brennan Boesch had the only multi-hit game with two, including a triple.
Verlander, meanwhile, allowed seven hits and struck out three. Phil Coke got the win with a scoreless inning.
