The inevitable has finally occurred: after starting the season in A+ Lakeland to rehab a shoulder injury, righthanded uber-prospect Jacob Turner has been promoted to the Toledo Mud Hens, presumably making his first start tomorrow against the Gwinnett Braves.

MLive's Chris Iott hinted that the move may occur this weekend, estimating that the club would push back Casey Crosby's scheduled start. Turner last pitched on Tuesday, putting him on schedule to pitch tomorrow on a normal 4 days' rest. Turner's last start for Lakeland was impressive, allowing just four hits in 7 innings. He has a 1.66 ERA in four starts this season for the Flying Tigers.
