Tigers at Athletics, lineups, Saturday, May 12 UPDATED

Modest Jim Leyland is modest.
Modest Jim Leyland is modest.

Update: Yoenis Cespedes was scratched. A's lineup has been revised.

Several Tigers have found success against Athletics starter Brandon McCarthy in the past, including Miguel Cabrera (1.138 OPS in 13 plate appearances) and Delmon Young (.931 OPS in 19 PA). Jhonny Peralta has struggled, with a .173 OPS in 24 PA. Thus, he's not in the lineup, I guess. Detroit's lineup features a lot of lefties, as McCarthy has struggled against them this year. However, in 2011 his split was only slightly worse (.675 OPS against) against lefties.

On the other end of things, not a lot of Oakland batters have much experience against Detroit starter Doug Fister. Current Athletics combine for 39 plate appearances and a .184 batting average.
