In newspapers, they might simply refer to a game like this as "late." While the Tigers' chances at a comeback appear to be dearly departed as well, for now we'll simply list the score as "late." Maybe it restarts -- the rain delay is currently at 1 hour 20 minutes or so, probably it doesn't. If it *does* restart I'll probably be asleep.
And of course, it appears as if Justin Verlander's string of going six innings or more is now kaput. It's currently the top of the sixth, 4-1 Boston, and Detroit has the bases loaded with two outs.
I'll be gone for the next five days or so enjoying a bit of a vacation. Big Al and Rob Rogacki will be keeping watch of things in my place. Some folks will even be at the meet-up.
So, enjoy the rest of the week, and fill in the recap as necessary when the game becomes official!
Game 103 Player of the Game
I thought I said Austin Jackson was ineligible because his name didn't begin with a vowel. No one listens around here!
