Sunday morning the Detroit Tigers placed backup OF/2B Ryan Raburn on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right thumb, retroactive to Aug. 1st.That noise you heard was a segment of Tigers fans rejoicing Raburn's removal from the roster, if only temporarily.

The roller-coaster, back and forth, up and down season of utility man Danny Worth took a turn for the better this morning. He was recalled from Toledo this morning and immediately placed in today's starting lineup at 2nd base, batting 9th. Worth is hitting .215 in his numerous stints with the Tigers this season.

The money quote from Worth shows even he is having trouble remembering how many times he's been recalled this season:

"Is it five now?" he asked, as he walked back into the Tigers clubhouse Sunday morning

Unfortunately Worth will not have as much time to enjoy the "sweet ass" toy he picked up after being sent down 2 weeks ago.

Raburn (also known as Rayburn and Ra-bum to the aforementioned segment of Tigerdom) is having by far the worst season of his career, hitting .172 with 1 home run. Raburn's playing time has been dwindling, playing in only 4 games since July 21st. His last appearance was on July 31st, pinch hitting during the ridiculous rain shortened loss against the Red Sox.
