A's fans thought they had it all figured out. Use Justin Verlander's (alleged?) ex, Kate Upton, to get into his head during the deciding Game 5 of the ALDS.
I guess it halfway worked. Verlander was asked about this after the game, he said he did notice it, and "no comment."
He let his pitching do the talking: 10 strikeouts, a no hitter in the seventh inning, eight shutout innings.
