Tigers' 2014 spring training schedule, opponents and ticket information announced

The Detroit Tigers announced their 2014 spring training schedule on Wednesday as the team heads to Lakeland, Fla., for its 78th season at TigerTown. So, book your flights and reserve your hotel rooms: now you know when to head south.

The Tigers return to their traditional spring opener against local Florida Southern College with a 1:05 p.m. start on Feb. 25. The final game in Lakeland is set for March 28 vs the Rays. The Tigers will have their normal trips and foes, which means you'll be seeing plenty of the Braves, Astros, Pirates, Phillies and Nationals with some Mets, Yankees and Marlins games as well.

Tickets will be priced in three tiers again, based on opponents and dates. According to the Tigers, season tickets go on sale Nov. 11.You can pick them up in person at Joker Marchant Stadium, or order by phone by calling (863) 686-8075 or by visiting tigers.com. You may also purchase season ticket plans of five-or-more games by calling (863) 686-8075, or visiting tigers.com.

Individual game tickets go on sale beginning at 10 a.m. on Jan. 11 and can be ordered by visiting the ticket office at Joker Marchant Stadium, calling 866-66-TIGER (8-4437) or visiting tigers.com.

Tickets for the 2014 spring exhibition season will be priced at three separate levels: Navy, Orange and White. Navy games will be held on Feb. 28, March 3, March 17, March 25, March 27 and March 28. Orange contests will be on Feb. 27, March 4, March 8, March 11, March 14, March 15, March 18 and March 23. White games will be played on Feb. 25, March 1, March 6 and March 13.
