In baseball circles, a "wall scraper" is exactly what you might expect: a home run that barely gets out of the park, or "scrapes the wall" as it leaves the yard. Tonight, Prince Fielder hit the longest wall scraper in recent memory, an opposite-field moon shot to the deepest part of Comerica Park.
Some quick math based on the stadium dimensions tells us that his homer traveled close to 430 feet, yet was another second or two of hang time from being brought back by center fielder Aaron Hicks.
This never gets old.
