To enjoy this post you are going to have to buy into a simple but important premise: Twitter is a lot of fun.
If you don't get it, or don't like it, then this post won't resonate with you. But for those of us who dig it, it can be addicting.
Twitter is great because it can serve a host of purposes. First, it is an information source. You can stay abreast of all the latest developments in which you have interest. Second, it is open. Any dope can start an account and find an audience (even if it is very small at first). This small audience can grow into one with almost no limits in size. Third, it is real time. This is important for watching sports. Baseball is especially suited to twitter. The sport has gaps that allow for the reading or construction of a tweet. (These gaps also make the game good for drinking beer and eating peanuts). Finally, it is social. You connect with people you haven't met. There is an aphorism that says "Facebook is where you don't like the people you know, Twitter is were you like the people you don't know."

Some notes about the rankings:
- The accounts should feature primarily Tigers related content.
- When it comes to players I am only including big leaguers and those likely to be in the bigs this year (as defined by Chris Iott's article HERE). I am not including minor leaguers because there are simply too many. If you are interested you can check out my minor league twitter post HERE, or wait for my updated list sometime in the next month or two.
- I have not included parody accounts unless they have a ton of followers or are of special interest to me.
- I have to know about the account to include it. If you have (or know of) a dynamite Tigers related account that is left off please include it in the comments. I'll consider adding it for next time.
- If you think the list isn't fair. Adjust, IT'S MY LIST!
