Stuff that happened:
- Justin Verlander walked a season-high five hitters and allowed four runs (three earned) in five innings despite not having a fastball of any kind. It's sort of impressive, if you think about it.
- Jhonny Peralta hit a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning to make sure the Tigers weren't shut out by Ubaldo Jimenez. Might as well be, though.
- Drew Smyly gave up a run on an RBI single by Asdrubal Cabrera. Smyly had pitched 15 scoreless innings prior to tonight's game. When it rains, it pours.
