Home Run Derby 2013: Odds favor Prince Fielder to win

Tigers first baseman favored to keep his home run crown during the 2013 All-Star Game festivities.

At 7/2, Prince Fielder is odds-on favorite to win the 2013 Home Run Derby and defend his crown from last season, Bovada reports. Fielder hit 28 home runs in the event last season to win the crown. However, he has some pretty good competition that he'll have to overcome.

That's because he'll have to overcome Baltimore's Chris Davis. The Orioles first baseman has set a blistering pace with 33 first-half home runs. That puts him on pace for 59 for the season -- just shy of Roger Maris' American League record of 61. Bovada has Davis' odds at 15/4.

Also in the American League, Yoenis Cespedes, who was added in place of Miguel Cabrera, has 11/2 odds. Like Fielder, he's sitting on 15 for the season.

Bryce Harper appears to be the National League's best home. The Nationals slugger, who recently sat out a few weeks with an injured knee, has 5/1 odds. He's hit 13 home runs in 53 games.

The Home Run Derby is scheduled to be televised 8 p.m. Monday on ESPN.

Via Bovada, here are the complete odds:

Prince Fielder (DET) 7/2

Chris Davis (BAL) 15/4

Bryce Harper (WSH) 5/1

Yoenis Cespedes (OAK) 11/2

Robinson Cano (NYY) 11/2

David Wright (NYM) 15/2

Carlos Gonzalez (COL) 15/2

Michael Cuddyer (COL) 9/1
