Justin Verlander's no-hitter broken up in 7th inning

Justin Verlander's no-hit bid against the Texas Rangers was broken up in the seventh inning.

Justin Verlander took a no-hitter into the 7th inning today against the Texas Rangers, but a double by Mitch Moreland ended any thoughts of Verlander picking up his third career no-no.

Verlander was able to work through the Rangers' lineup twice without allowing a hit despite not having very good command of his fastball. At one point in the sixth inning, Fox Sports Detroit showed a graphic detailing Verlander's pitch selection. Normally, Verlander throws his fastball almost 60% of the time. Today, he was having trouble commanding it and only threw the heater 33% of the time.

The Tigers offense backed Verlander to a 5-0 lead thanks in part to solo home runs from Torii Hunter, Victor Martinez, and Jhonny Peralta.
