MLB odds: Tigers are World Series favorites

Detroit remains the favorites to win baseball's big trophy in October.

USA TODAY Sports

At the break, the Detroit Tigers remain betting favorites to reach and win the World Series, according to Bovada.lv numbers released this morning.

The Tigers have 3/1 odds to win the AL pennant, and 13/2 odds to take the World Series if they reach it. (Hey, at least they'd have home field advantage at Comerica Park!) If you prefer those as percentages, that's about 13.3 percent to win the World Series and 25 percent to win the AL pennant. The Tigers are likely running well because they're such heavy favorites to take the AL Central -- 1/4 -- or about 80 percent.

Other popular picks: The St. Louis Cardinals are 7/1 to win the World Series (2006 redux?), the Atlanta Braves 8/1, the Boston Red Sox 9/1 and the Los Angeles Dodgers have come back from the brink to be 9/1. At 7/2, the Cardinals are favorites to win the NL.

The Red Sox and A's are picks to win the AL East and West. The Braves, Cards and Dodgers are top picks to win their divisions in the NL.
