Fox Sports Detroit to offer alternate broadcast

Don't want to hear the announcers talk over the game? This is your dream

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

During tonight's Tigers-Nationals game, Fox Sports Detroit will offer an alternate broadcast on Fox Sports Detroit Plus that does not include broadcasters Mario Impemba and Rod Allen. They're calling it "Natural Sounds at Comerica Park."

The network announced:

"Natural Sounds at Comerica Park will feature extra microphones around the park so viewers can hear more of the sounds of baseball -- the bat cracks, ball popping in the mitt, vendors chiming in from the stands and the crowd's reaction to every play on the field," senior vice president and general manager of FOX Sports Detroit Greg Hammaren said.

Fox Sports Detroit will still have the normal broadcast of the game.

If you miss tonight's broadcast, you'll have another chance to hear a game without announcers: Fox Sports Detroit will use the concept again Aug. 30 when the Tigers play the Indians.

Tonight's game will be broadcast at 7 p.m. and features Nationals ace Stephen Strasburg against the Tigers' Anibal Sanchez.
