The All Star rosters were announced by Major League Baseball, and the Detroit Tigers lead all teams with six representatives.

Miguel Cabrera was named the starting third basemen, his eighth selection.

Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer were named to the pitching staff. While it is Verlander's sixth selection, including last year's debacle in Kansas City, Max's 13 wins with no losses earned him his first selection.

Jhonny Peralta made his second All Star team as a reserve.

Prince Fielder and Torii Hunter were selected as reserves, each for the fifth time in their respective careers.

Joaquin Benoit is in the running for the final spot, to be voted by the fans. You can vote for him over Steve Delabar, David Robertson, Tanner Scheppers, and Koji Uehara.

The All Star game will be held July 16, televised on FOX. If the American League wins, and the Tigers make the World Series, then Detroit will have home field advantage.
