Peralta's 50 game suspension for his involvement in the Boigenesis scandal comes to an end today. Thursday being a travel day for the team, the first game Peralta will be eligible to play will be in Miami on Friday night.
Danny Worth was called up from Triple-A Toledo when rosters expanded in September. Worth made just three appearances with the Tigers before separating his shoulder against the Royals on September 6.
A man without a position since highly regarded rookie shortstop Jose Iglesias was acquired from the Red Sox at the non-waiver trade deadline, Peralta has spent the last week in Florida's Instructional League working out at his new position, left field. He's scheduled to play one more Instructional League game on Thursday before reporting to the Tigers.
At the time of the suspension, Peralta was having a career season, hitting .305/.361/.461 with 11 home runs and 54 RBI in 104 games. It's anticipated Peralta will be on the Tigers' post season roster and will be used in a platoon role, sharing left field with Andy Dirks.
