If you wanted proof baseball will survive its winter slumber to return, this week has been a good one. Thursday we learned who the 16 non-roster invitees were to Lakeland. Even more important, we learned when they'll report! Pitchers and catchers report Feb. 13 and have their first workout Feb. 14, with manager Brad Ausmus' full roster working out on Feb. 18. Feb. 14 is exactly five weeks away. Exactly!
At 10 a.m. Saturday, spring training individual game tickets go on sale at Tigers.com. You can go straight to this page to get all the details about the home schedule as well as the ticket price. It varies by opponent, more or less. So it's going to cost you a bit more to see the Yankees, basically.
The Florida Southern game is set for 1 p.m. on Feb. 25, with the Tigers traveling to Champion Stadium a day later to Grapefruit League action against the Braves. The Braves return the favor Feb. 27 by visiting Joker Marchant. (You can find the whole schedule here.)
Finally: We're two weeks away from the Winter Caravan, though details have not been announced for that yet, and then TigerFest is Jan. 25.
Spring is coming!
