Rajai Davis is in the Tigers' lineup for Game 2 of the American League Division Series. Still suffering from the pelvic ligament injury he suffered at the end of the season, Davis' status was unknown Friday morning, causing Tigers manager Brad Ausmus to delay announcing his batting order until about an hour before the start of the game.
The only real change to the Tigers' is a slight switch in the bottom half, with Nick Castellanos moving up to the sixth hole and Alex Avila dropping to the seventh.
Detroit will send right-handed pitcher Justin Verlander to the mound, and he'll need to be his vintage self to keep the Tigers' hopes of a long playoff run alive.
Tigers
Ian Kinsler 2B
Torii Hunter RF
Miguel Cabrera 1B
Victor Martinez DH
J.D. Martinez LF
Nick Castellanos 3B
Alex Avila C
Andrew Romine SS
Rajai Davis CF
SP: Justin Verlander
The Orioles are sending out the same lineup with one switch: inserting Nick Hundley at catcher in place of Caleb Joseph.
Left-hander Wei-Yin Chen gets the start on the mound for the O's. He has a 3.54 ERA (3.89 FIP) and is coming off a September during which his ERA was 2.04. The Tigers have hit a little better against lefties this season, so it's a good chance for them to get back in the series.
