Two days, two introductions. Ok, so maybe you've seen his work around here over the past couple weeks — including this morning's post about Alex Gonzalez — but with a playoff race and (brief) playoff series in the way, he never got his full due. Now, we finally have the pleasure of introducing the newest member of the Bless You Boys staff: Cameron Kaiser!
Some of you may already be familiar with Cameron's work. He did an excellent job running the T-Town Tiger blog before we snatched him up, and has been active on Twitter at @ttowntiger and @camjkaiser26. But enough of me talking about him, let's hear from the man himself!
Hello everyone! My name is Cameron J. Kaiser and I am the newest writer at Bless You Boys! I am from Toledo, Ohio, and have been a diehard fan of the Detroit Tigers ever since attending my first game at Comerica Park. My mother, like many, is a huge Derek Jeter fan. On May 31st of 2003, my mother’s birthday, the New York Yankees happened to be playing the Tigers. Naturally, she forced little seven year old me into a tiny #2 shirsey and took me to the ballpark to witness "The Captain," in person. After watching Adam Bernero throw seven strong innings of two-run ball to beat the Yankees, I was instead hooked on the Detroit Tigers rather than Mr. Jeter.
Eleven years later, here I am today. Although I am known on Twitter as T-Town Tiger, T as in Toledo, I now reside in Fort Myers, Florida where I am a freshman at Florida Gulf Coast University. Yes, I am a citizen of Dunk City. I am a management major with a minor in journalism, but my specialization in both studies is sports. I am heavily involved in the athletic department at FGCU. I am the official scorer for all volleyball and basketball games, and plan on working in the statistics department for the baseball team. Along with Bless You Boys, I currently write for the Naples Daily News, and the FGCU Eagles Nest, and have freelanced for the Toledo Free Press in the past.
Some of you know that I use to write for my own Detroit Tigers blog, but have since taken my talents to the wonderful land of BYB. Through my writings I will try and bring you all the most objective, but interesting opinions on topics related to the Detroit Tigers. I will incorporate the use of advanced analytics into most of my articles, and urge all of my readers to keep an open mind about the points that I will try to make.
Baseball is the most beautiful game in the universe, and I am humbled to get to spend so much of my life around it. I look forward to bringing you the best Detroit Tigers analysis you can find, and I am honored to do it with the great group at Bless You Boys!
