After a few defensive gaffes in the team's opener on Monday, the Tigers decided that their first game in the month of April would be an appropriate time to show off their revamped defense. Early on, rookie left fielder Tyler Collins made a diving catch on a fly ball off the bat of Alex Gordon.
Later in the game, Nick Castellanos made a nice spinning scoop and throw to nail Billy Butler at first base.
Sure, a faster runner might have been safe, but it was a slick play for a guy who spent all of 2013 in the outfield.
