Injured Detroit Tigers' reliever Ian Krol is eligible to be activated off the 15-day DL this Monday. In preparation for his pending return, the Tigers will be sending Krol on an injury rehab assignment. Jason Beck of MLB.com is reporting Krol will report to Single-A West Michigan, and is scheduled to pitch Friday and Saturday. This is in anticipation of Krol's expected return to the 25-man roster next Tuesday when the Tigers begin a two game series with the Dodgers.

The left-handed Krol pitched well over the first two months of the season, opposition batters hitting .253/.309/.440 against him. Krol entered June with a 2.33 ERA in 23 appearances over 19 1/3 innings. But the wheels feel off with an 11.12 ERA in June, Krol allowing three home runs in just in 5 /13 innings in the eight games prior to going on the DL.

After complaining of a 'dead arm,' Krol was placed on the 15-day DL with left shoulder inflammation on June 21. Triple-A left-hander Pat McCoy. was called up as a replacement. In three appearances with Detroit, McCoy has a 2.70 ERA, allowing one run in 3 1/3 innings of work.
