DETROIT — Major League Baseball released the tentative schedule for the 2015 season on Monday. The Detroit Tigers schedule, which ends at home in 2014 and is played against the Minnesota Twins, will begin at home on April 6 with a three-game series against the Twins. The Tigers will end the season on October 4 in Chicago against the White Sox.

The Tigers will remain home for the majority of April and have four interleague series' scheduled next season. First, they will take on the Pirates in Pittsburgh early in April. The Tigers will then play host to the Milwaukee Brewers for three games in mid-June, as well as a home-home split with the Cincinnati Reds in mid-June. The Tigers will play the Chicago Cubs in two separate interleague series,' first at home in June and later on the road in August.

There will only be two separate west coast trips for the Tigers next season. The first is a two-team series, which occurs at the end of May. The Tigers travel to take on the Oakland Athletics for three games, followed by a four-game series against the Angels in Los Angeles. The Tigers will not travel to the west coast again until early July when they take on the Mariners in Seattle for three games, concluding their west-coast travels for the season.

In September, the only non-divisional series for Detroit will be a home series when the Tigers host the Tampa Bay Rays for a three-game series at the beginning of the month. The Tigers will then go on the road to take on the Texas Rangers to close out September for three games.

Five of the seven series' played in April will be against American League Central rivals, and the Tigers have a total of two off-days in that month. May is equally busy, with only two off-days scheduled early on for the month. The team will also be on the road for much of May, and in June and July the Tigers will be traveling for about 50 percent of the time.

August offers the lightest schedule of the season, with five off-days scheduled and the All-Star break is scheduled for July 13-16. The Tigers will finish the first half on the road with a four-game series against the Twins, and they will pick up the second half at home, playing host to the Baltimore Orioles. The Tigers will finish their 2015 season on a six-game road trip, concluding in Chicago against the White Sox.
