Mike Pelfrey will wear number 37 for the Tigers

Mike Pelfrey will wear number 37 when he makes his debut for the Tigers, becoming the first player to wear the number since the departure of Max Scherzer.

37 was also the number of everyone's favorite gambler Kenny Rogers, everyone's favorite sports glasses wearer Nate Robertson, and random Tiger of the day Steve Sparks. Did you know Steve Sparks had 8 (!!!) complete games for the Tigers in 2001? Baseball reference is a fun place to get lost.

Anyway, let's welcome Mike to the club and hope for Scherzer like numbers.
