Following the latest flurry of roster moves by the Detroit Tigers, here are contract details, service time, and option status for players on the 40 man roster, updated through June 14, 2015. Service time listed is through opening day, 2015.
A player may not be optioned without his consent after he has accrued five years' service time in the major leagues, regardless of whether he has options remaining. These players will be on the 25 man major league roster for the duration of the 2015 season, unless they are traded or clear waivers before being sent outright to the minor leagues or released.

Transaction Rules
Options: Once a player is placed on the team's 40 man roster, he may be sent on optional assignment (optioned) to the minor leagues in three separate seasons. That includes being optioned before the start of the season. A player who has less than five years experience as a pro, excluding short season leagues, but has been optioned three times, has a fourth option. For example, Bryan Holaday has a fourth option which was used in the 2015 season.
A player may be optioned multiple times in one season, and only one option per season is used. A player who is optioned can not be recalled for at least ten days, unless another player is placed on the disabled list. A player who is optioned for a total of less than 20 days in a season is not charged with an option (and he receives major league pay for that period). Players on the major league disabled list also accrue major league service time.
Once a player has used up his options, he can not be sent to the minor leagues without first clearing waivers. If he clears waivers, he may then be taken off the 40 man roster and sent outright to the minors. A player may only be outrighted once in his career without consent. A player who is outrighted more than once may declare free agency immediately or at the end of the season.
Players are eligible for salary arbitration once they have accrued three seasons of major league service. A player with about two years and 120 days of major league service (read 2.120) is eligible for arbitration as a "super two" player, and will be eligible for arbitration four times. David Price had his fourth season of arbitration last winter, and Al Alburquerque is in his second of four seasons of arbitration. After six years of major league service, a player is a free agent when his contract expires.
