Toledo Mud Hens 5, Norfolk Tides 4 (box)
Dixon Machado hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Mud Hens a hard-fought 5-4 comeback win on Thursday night. Down 4-0 in the sixth inning, the Hens scored twice in the sixth and seventh to tie the game. A strong effort from their bullpen -- including a scoreless inning from Bruce Rondon in the 10th -- kept Norfolk off the scoreboard long enough for Toledo to push across the winning run. Machado had three hits on the night and was a triple shy of the cycle.

Lakeland scored all seven of their runs in the final three innings, coming back from a small 1-0 deficit to take three of four games from the Stone Crabs. Bobby Borchering, Francisco Martinez, and Raph Rhymes all doubled for the Flying Tigers, who finished the night with 10 hits overall. Rhymes and catcher Will Allen had a pair of RBI apiece. Starter Trent Szkutnik, who started the year with the West Michigan Whitecaps, allowed one run over five innings.

The TinCaps jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and a strong effort from their pitching staff made it stand up for all nine innings. The Whitecaps managed eight hits on the night, but went 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position and left eight runners on base. Rashad Brown and Garrett Mattlage had two hits apiece for West Michigan. Starter Artie Lewicki worked five innings, allowing three runs on seven hits.
