Giving Yoenis Cespedes a proper send-off

Yo is leaving Detroit, but not before we listen to some of his highlights as called by Dan Dickerson

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

These trades, man, they'll hurt you sometimes. It's just a game, and we're supposed to just be rooting for laundry, but sometimes a player here or there will get past the stat lines and into your system, and it absolutely sucks when the inevitability of departure -- whether due to trades or retirement -- finally arrives and you have to say goodbye. I liked Yoenis Cespedes, for reasons that went beyond mere performance, and I probably won't ever be able to really articulate why. Sometimes you just know, right, Yo?

So I wanted to give my Tiger a proper send-off, and the only way I really knew how to do that was to string together a few of my favorite Cespedes highlights, as called by Dan Dickerson, and set them to an appropriate soundtrack: "If You Wanna" by The Vaccines. Given the rumors that Yo might actually come back to Detroit in the coming offseason, I felt like this was a most appropriate musical salute as well:

If you wanna come back, it's alright, it's alright
It's alright if you wanna come back
If you wanna come back, it's alright, it's alright
It's alright if you wanna come back to me

So long for now, Yo. See you in November?
