Announcing the BYB All-Star break FanPost contest

Submit a FanPost for a chance to win a baseball signed by Victor Martinez, courtesy of Mizuno. There are t-shirts too!

If you buy something from an SB Nation link, Vox Media may earn a commission. See our ethics statement.

Mizuno

Do you have an opinion about the Tigers? Of course you do! Well, if you express your opinion in the form of a FanPost in the next week or so, you could win a baseball autographed by Tigers' designated hitter Victor Martinez. Yes, we're serious! It's in the picture right up there!

We're conducting a FanPost contest -- our third ever -- and giving away the ball to the author that receives the most votes at the end of the All-Star break. The ball comes to us courtesy of Mizuno, who makes just about every type of sports equipment you can imagine, and who V-Mart represents as an ambassador.

But wait, there's more! Our old friends at Don Kelly T-shirts are involved again, and they'll be supplying a pair of shirts to the runners-up as well. Check out these bad boys:

Miggy so strong! It's just a plain navy blue pocket-tee with only the most awesomest picture ever on the pocket: Iggy admiring Miggy's muscles.

This one's pretty self-explanatory. J.D. Martinez, as far as we can tell, has superhuman powers. You know you want to wear this shirt to your next Tigers game.

SO HOW DO I GET THIS AWESOME STUFF FOR FREE?!

Relax, it's easy. All you have to do is write an interesting or entertaining blog post about the Tigers, and submit it as a FanPost. The best submissions will be featured on the front page of Bless You Boys, so this is your chance to prove to all of your friends that you're interesting, popular, and knowledgeable about the Tigers! If you've never written a FanPost before and need a quick tutorial (or just want a refresher on the finer points of our text editor), click here.

The subject of your submission is totally up to you. We've left the rules pretty wide open, the only restrictions being that your post must be tied to Tigers baseball, and it must be your own work. For some great examples you can see the entire list of entries to the spring training contest here. Our readers got very creative, submitting everything from advanced analysis to gut-busting humor to touching personal stories. As an idea starter, the timing of this contest could provide you with some great material regarding how the first half of the season went, or how the team is going to approach the trade deadline and/or the second half.

At the end of the contest -- July 16, the last day of the All-Star break -- we'll assemble all the submissions into a post and allow our readers to vote on their favorites. Voting will be conducted in the comments again, so you will need an SB Nation account in order to vote.

Finally, be sure to check out the Mizuno website (they literally have any sports gear you could ever want), and if you're on Twitter or Instagram follow them @MizunoBaseball.

Similarly, check out the other stuff Don Kelly T-shirts has to offer (they have a few great items for fans of the Lions and the University of Michigan), and if you're on Twitter follow them @DonKellyTshirts. They tweet fun fan stuff and not just, you know, business promotional stuff. They miss Don Kelly even more than you do! Follow them!

Remember, the deadline is 11:59 p.m. on July 16! That's next Thursday! If you have any questions about the contest you can contact me personally at fielderschoice11@gmail.com or on Twitter @FieldersChoice5, or you can email bybtigers@gmail.com.
