Shane Greene was pulled early from his start which led to the Mud Hens having to pitch many innings in relief. They weren't up to the task, with Jose Valdez and Guido Knudson giving up two runs apiece. Trayvon Robinson, Bryan Holaday, and Daniel Fields all had three hits in the loss.

In game one of the doubleheader, the Curve beat Erie 4-2 by bouncing on Montreal Robertson. He allowed three runs and the bats never woke up to cut the gap. Five Erie players went hitless on the game.

Another day, another extra-inning game for Lakeland. The Flying Tigers pushed across four first inning runs, led by Francisco Martinez's three-run shot, but would not score the rest of the way while having just two hits in the last nine innings. Locke St. John melted down in the fifth after pitching strong early.
