MLB Playoffs Open Thread: Indians at Blue Jays, Cubs at Dodgers

Will the Indians sweep the Blue Jays? Who will take control of the NLCS?

MLB: Vin Scully Avenue Dedication Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Cleveland Indians at Toronto Blue Jays (Indians lead 3-0)

Time/Place: 4:00 p.m. ET, Rogers Centre
TV: TBS
Pitching Matchup: RHP Corey Kluber (3.14 ERA) vs RHP Aaron Sanchez (3.00 ERA)

Outlook

I’m not sure how many different ways I can say this: two very good pitchers are going at it in a postseason game with huge implications. Whoever wants to win will need to be on his A-game in order to earn the victory for his team.

Hitters to fear are Josh Donaldson (.375 BA in 16 AB career against Kluber) from Toronto and Lonnie Chisenhall (2 for 5, 1 HR career against Sanchez) from Cleveland.

Prediction

Blue Jays get to Kluber early and ride the momentum to a win.

Chicago Cubs at Los Angeles Dodgers (tied 1-1)

Time/Place: 8 p.m. ET, Dodger Stadium
TV: Fox Sports 1
Pitching Matchup: RHP Jake Arrieta (3.10 ERA) vs LHP Rich Hill (2.12 ERA)

Outlook

[See above]

Hitters to fear are Josh Reddick (.444 BA, 1 HR in 9 AB career against Arrieta) from Los Angeles and... well, the Dodgers have three at-bats combined against Hill, so Ben Zobrist (1 for 2, 1 RBI career against Hill) from Chicago.

Prediction

Arrieta puts the Cubs on cruise control and they ride him en route to a relatively easy win.

Who are you rooting for?
