Back in the day, MLB players had to work offseason jobs in order to make ends meet. They did not earn the multi-million dollar salaries that today’s stars rake in, and sometimes had trouble keeping food on the table when their paychecks stopped coming in after the season.
Some players still find time to keep working, though. Reigning AL Rookie of the Year Michael Fulmer -- yup, we’re going to get a lot of mileage out of that one — is earning some extra cash this winter as a plumber. He called in to MLB Network’s Hot Stove show on Tuesday to give the world an update on his plumbing prowess.
