Tigers' Daniel Norris throws 6 strong innings in rehab start

Charlotte Knights 4, Toledo Mud Hens 1 (box)

Daniel Norris worked six strong innings in his second rehab start with the Mud Hens, holding the Knights to a run on four hits while striking out five. Reliever Ruben Alainz was saddled with the loss after allowing three runs in the top of the eighth inning. The Mud Hens offense combined for 10 hits, but went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position. Steven Moya hit a solo home run, his fifth of the season.

Coming up next: Thad Weber (2-0, 0.82 ERA) will make his first home start of the season as the Mud Hens welcome the Gwinnett Braves to Fifth Third Field. Top prospect Tyrell Jenkins (1-1, 2.40 ERA) will start for the Braves.

Erie SeaWolves 3, Altoona Curve 0 (box)

The Erie offense racked up 12 hits, but didn't score until the sixth inning against a stingy Altoona pitching staff. Luckily, Erie starter Tommy Collier was even better, tossing seven shutout innings in the victory. Relievers Confesor Lara and Paul Voelker slammed the door after Dean Green homered and Jason Krizan drove in a pair of runs.

Both the Lakeland Flying Tigers and West Michigan Whitecaps enjoyed off days on Monday. The Flying Tigers (8-10) will send A.J. Ladwig (3-0, 1.13 ERA) to the mound on Tuesday as they kick off a three-game series against the Brevard County Manatees. West Michigan (9-8) kicks off a six-game road trip against the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Righthander Sandy Baez (0-2, 4.32 ERA) will start for the Whitecaps on Tuesday.
