Thad Weber made the start for the Mud Hens, going seven innings and giving up three runs -- two earned -- on the night. Toledo tallied eight hits but scored just once, with Dixon Machado plating Tommy Field on a single in the seventh inning. Rehabbing James McCann went hitless in three at-bats, but drew two walks in his first appearance since going on the disabled list.

Both offenses were on fire early, scoring a total of 13 runs between the second and fourth innings. Erie starter Brennan Smith allowed five runs in 2 1/3 innings and surrendered three home runs. Third baseman Tyler Bortnick drove in a trio of runs for the SeaWolves, including a two-run homer in the top of the fourth inning.

The Flying Tigers got their offense from RBI singles by Wade Hinkle and Mike Gerber in the third inning and a Joey Pancake sacrifice fly in the fifth. Joe Jimenez notched his third save of the season by pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
