Sorry for the slow update here. I got caught up in buying a house. But! The good news is, we have an update for you now, and I have a really big dog house for Donner.
As you might recall, we narrowed it down to a date -- Aug. 6 against the Mets, Fiesta Tigres! -- and a price range ($30-40 seemed right) and got an unofficial head count.
So here are the details
Game Time/Date: 7 p.m. Saturday Aug. 6
Ticket cost: $36 + $3.10 in fees = $38.10 each
Ticket location: Sec. 329 (that's behind home plate, upper deck, just a touch to the third base side) rows 9, 10, 11. (The photo above is section 330 row 10 from Opening Day this year.)
Tickets available: We reserved a humdinger of an amount: 36. We owe the Tigers for 18. Please, at least 18 of you come.
How to get your tickets: No Paypal this year! Just register at this website set up by the Tigers and you can do it yourself.
Deadline: 11:59 p.m. ET, July 6
And a special thanks to Patrick OKennedy for getting that set up for us, as well.
It's always a lot of fun. As a bonus this year, Magglio!!
2006 AL Championship 10th Anniversary - Magglio Ordoñez
Magglio Ordoñez, the guest of honor for the 11th Annual Fiesta Tigres, will participate in a pregame Q&A session with fans in the Big Cat Court. Magglio will discuss his career with the Tigers and his pivotal role as a member of the 2006 AL Championship team.
Several of us live in Detroit or at least a short drive away. We'll settle in on dining and hangout plans as we get closer to the date. I personally live 15 minutes from downtown and about 12 minutes from Corktown and if you're visiting Detroit for the weekend, or any part of it, will be happy to help serve as a guide.
But we have other knowledgable and friendly Detroiters, too, who can help suggest hotels, food, and other activities. So, again, just ask in the comments, or you can e-mail me or hit me up on Twitter. We're here to help!
