Erie jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, but were unable to make it stand up in the end. Starter Cory Riordan allowed a pair of runs in seven innings while striking out seven, but reliever Ruben Alaniz let it slip away when he allowed four runs in the eighth inning. JaCoby Jones had another good day for Erie with two hits and an RBI. Dominic Ficociello led the SeaWolves' offense with three hits, including a double.

Ross Kivett and Kade Scivicque hit solo home runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a scoreless tie, and the Lakeland pitching staff made the lead stand up for their second consecutive win. Fort Wayne held a 1-0 lead for most of this contest, but Leonard Laffita's sacrifice fly scored Shane Zeile in the top of the seventh to tie the game. A Fort Wayne error on another potential sacrifice fly in the eighth gave the Whitecaps the lead, and their bullpen shut the door for their 22nd win of the season.
