West Michigan Whitecaps 3, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 1 (box)

Starting pitcher Matt Hall allowed one run over six strong innings and the bullpen combined for three shutout frames to deliver the Whitecaps' third win in a row. West Michigan jumped out to an early lead on a Cam Gibson RBI single in the second, and a Will Allen single in the third. David Gonzalez led the way with three hits, while Rashad Brown had another multi-hit game.

Coming up next: Top prospect Beau Burrows (1-1, 2.33 ERA) will start for the Whitecaps against Wisconsin's Drake Owenby (1-0, 0.98 ERA) as West Michigan looks to sweep the Timber Rattlers.

The Erie SeaWolves and Bowie Baysox were rained out on Friday, and this particular author is currently wondering whether it will ever stop raining on the east coast. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, weather permitting. Myles Jaye (0-3, 587 ERA) will start the first game for Erie against Bowie's Chris Lee (4-0, 2.49 ERA).
