Statcast says Miguel Cabrera hit the ball 454 feet Monday at Comerica Park. That sounds pretty far. It would be the Tigers’ second-farthest home run of the year, even.
BUT MIGUEL CABRERA ONE-BOUNCED THE FRICKEN BALL ONTO ADAMS STREET.
This, for reference, is what a 467-foot home run at Comerica Park looks like.
There’s no way Miguel Cabrera’s home run only went 454 feet. None. Nobody believes it. Not fans, not reporters. Nobody. ESPN Stats & Info later clarified that the ball was hit 461 feet. Still don’t believe it.
Thanks to Detroit News reporter Tony Paul, we do have a quick interview with the guy who ultimately recovered what is truly the farthest home run in Comerica Park history.
