For the second consecutive year, a certain member of the Detroit sports media has riled up the ace of the Tigers’ staff by turning a non-story into news. Thursday afternoon, Lynn Henning of the Detroit News tweeted a link to an article he had written about the Tigers possibly trading star pitcher Justin Verlander.

Shortly after the story went online, Verlander took notice, and fired off a fairly obvious subtweet.
When someone in the media makes up trade stories just for attention. #citeyoursources

This isn’t the first time that Henning has riled up a star for the Tigers. Around this time last year, David Price lit him up for a tweet that questioned his commitment to the team.
