Toledo Mud Hens 6, Indianapolis Indians 1 (box)
Warwick Saupold and the Mud Hens pitching staff held the Indians to just five hits, and eventually Toledo’s offense came through for an easy 6-1 win. The Mud Hens scored five runs in the seventh, and saw five different players drive in runs on the game. JaCoby Jones and Jordany Valdespin led the way with three hits apiece, and leadoff hitter Alex Presley added two more. Saupold was solid through six innings, allowing just one run on four hits with four strikeouts.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 7, Erie SeaWolves 4 (box)
SeaWolves starter Cory Riordan was roughed up, allowing six runs on eight hits in five innings. The Fisher Cats added five more hits off reliever David Martinez, giving them 13 on the game. The SeaWolves offense kept up for a bit, scoring three runs in the top of the fourth after New Hampshire had taken a 3-0 lead, but they would not get on the board again until the ninth. Anthony Gose reached base twice, and now has nine hits in his last five games. Harold Castro drove in two runs for Erie.

West Michigan Whitecaps 8, Bowling Green Hot Rods 3 (box)
The Whitecaps jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first couple innings, then made it 6-1 with a four-run fourth. Beau Burrows and Whitecaps pitching staff made the lead stand up, holding Bowling Green to just four hits and three walks all game. Burrows struck out three and walked three over 5 1/3 innings, and picked up his sixth win of the season. The Whitecaps offense managed 13 hits on the day, and benefitted from a couple of costly Bowling Green errors.

Joey Havrilak and Blaise Salter drove in runs in the first inning, and the Tigers rode a 2-0 lead all the way into the seventh inning. The IronBirds mounted a rally against Tigers reliever Joe Navilhon, but left the game-tying run on second base to end the game. Alfred Gutierrez got the start for Connecticut and limited the IronBirds to just two hits in four shutout innings.

The Tigers were limited to just two hits in the second game of their doubleheader. Josh Lester and Daniel Woodrow were the Connecticut hitters to break through against Aberdeen pitching, while three others drew walks. Tigers starter Clate Schmidt had a solid outing, allowing two runs (one earned) in four innings. Recent draftee Bryan Garcia struck out the side in his inning of work.

The Lakeland Flying Tigers had their game against the Clearwater Threshers postponed due to rain on Sunday. The two teams will make up the game with a doubleheader at Henley Field on Thursday, August 11. On Monday, the Flying Tigers will kick off a series against the Brevard County Manatees starting at 4:00 p.m. ET. Spencer Turnbull will make his first start of the season for Lakeland.
