On Wednesday, Oklahoma City mayor Mick Cornett declared January 11 Michael Fulmer Day, as he signed the document to make the day official in Fulmer’s hometown.

To celebrate Michael Fulmer Day, Bless You Boys recalls some of our favorite Fulminator moments of 2016.

May 21, 2016 - First start in Detroit

The Tigers beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 5-4, thanks to Fulmer’s stellar start. He struck out 11 and gave up only one run - a solo home run to Evan Longoria - and earned the W in front of the home crowd.

June 1, 2016 - Near no-hitter in Los Angeles

Fulmer went 7 23 innings against the Angels and didn’t allow a hit until the bottom of the 7th with two outs. The Tigers won 3-0 and Fulmer got the win.

August 14, 2016 - Complete game shutout in Arlington

Arguably Fulmer’s best start of the season, he went a full nine innings and earned his tenth win in a 7-0 victory against the Texas Rangers. He struck out nine and walked none; he allowed only four hits.
