State of the blog: What do you want to see from Bless You Boys in 2017?

BYB is gearing up for its 12th full season and we want to hear from you!

The Detroit Tigers just missed out on the postseason in 2016, coming within 1 12 games of the final AL Wild Card spot. Some say they were a bit lucky to be in that position, with a pythagorean expected win-loss record a few victories shy of their actual 86-75 mark. Others, like Baseball Prospectus’ third order win percentage, think the Tigers were one of the better teams in the AL.

Here at Bless You Boys, we have similar feelings. The 2016 season was a great one for us. We posted some great content, hired some excellent new writers, and even met the man/myth/legend himself. However, like the actual Tigers, we feel like we missed that special something at times. Whether it was a lack of sabermetric analysis, or not enough jokes, or just a general malaise as the team slogged through a lackluster early season stretch, we want to be better in 2017.

That’s where you come in! We want to know what you, the reader, wants to see during the upcoming season. Our top prospects list will start rolling out on February 1, and we’ll have team and player previews coming up later in spring training — along with a little bit of World Baseball Classic coverage. After that? It’s your pick. Do you like our game coverage? Wish we did something a little differently? Let us know in the comments!

Remember, there are only two weeks until spring training! Let us know what we can do better or differently in the upcoming season, and we’ll put that advice straight to good use. Be sure to rec comments that you agree with so we can more easily see the best responses!

Most of all, thanks for reading!
